이 부분이랑 가사를 읽어보니 왜 영화 "블랙위도우"에서 이 노래가 옐레나의 최애곡으로 나왔는지 짐작이 가네요. 영화에서 옐레나가 '내 노래를 틀어달라'고 한 후 차에서 카세트 테이프를 타고 이 노래가 흘러나온 후, 차에서 내리면거 음악은 뚝 끊겨버립니다. 가사에 나온 'The day the music die'가 그날이었던 셈이겠죠. 그리고 그날 옐레나는 나타샤를 포함한 (위장)가족과 이별해야 했고 이별한 후 나타샤를 다시 만나고 알렉세이와 이 노래를 다시 부르기 전까지, 옐레나는 레드룸에서 통제와 억압의 대상이 되어 정신을 조작받고 수많은 사람들을 아무렇지도 않게 죽이고 다니게 되니까요. 영화에서 "cool way to die"라는 옐레나가 말을 몇 번씩 한다는 점도 이 노래를 상기시키고요.

6살이었던 옐레나가 부르고 다니기에는 멜로디는 경쾌해도 가사가 암울하다는 생각도 듭니다. 어린 옐레나와 이 노래는 그 자체로는 정말 안 어울릴지도 모르겠네요... 그만큼 옐레나를 포함한 많은 여자 아이들이 나이에 맞지 않게 살아갔다는 걸 의미하기도 하는 것 같습니다. 레드룸에서는 어쨌든 아이들은 통제를 받고 세뇌를 당하면서 자신이 어떤 참혹한 짓을 저질렀는지에 대해서도 무감각하게 살아갈 테니까... 어두운 가사의 노래를 부르고 다니는 6살 짜리 옐레나의 모습에서 그게 이미 보이기 시작했다고도 볼 수 있겠네요...
